WHY TAKE THIS COURSE?

The GUE Performance Diver course is the newest gateway course into GUE training. Newly certified divers now have a more accessible way to personally experience what GUE is all about without compromising on standards and quality of training.

Some divers feel that they need additional time during their initial scuba training to work on their buoyancy, trim, and propulsion techniques. But with the short duration of many open water courses, it can be difficult for divers to obtain a level of comfort in the water where they feel they are in control of their positioning and able to relax and enjoy the dive. This new course has been designed to maximize your time in the water by incorporating online adaptive learning.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The GUE Performance Diver course provides all divers with an opportunity to advance basic diving skills. It provides non-GUE trained divers (divers who are already certified with another recognized diving agency) with a gateway into GUE training.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

You will receive access to GUE’s online learning platform, which you can utilize before the in-person portion of the course. This online learning system will adapt to you, ensuring it focuses on teaching you what you don't already know. You can learn at your own pace, so all students will reach a level of mastery of the material. Your time with the instructor can then be spent covering the practical elements of diving. You will be introduced to the benefits of having standardized equipment configuration, standardized procedures, and how a team-oriented approach can be used to maximize safety, efficiency, and fun. You will build a solid diving platform based on balance, trim, buoyancy, and propulsion techniques. Learning different propulsion techniques and stability will enable you to feel more confident no matter what conditions you encounter. Learning to do skills while neutrally buoyant means you can stop and enjoy the underwater world without feeling like you are crashing into the bottom or floating away. This course is just the start and will show you a completely new approach to diving.

This course is just the start and will show you a completely new approach to diving. Course outcomes include, but are not limited to: GUE single or double-tank equipment configuration and use, trim and buoyancy, propulsion techniques (including the backwards kick), gas sharing, and ascent training. At the instructor’s discretion, the course can also include an experience dive, a great way for students to see how much progress can be made in just two days.

This course will supplement training that you have already received and will give you more confidence in your basic skills, even if you do not desire to pursue  more advanced training. The course also includes the theory and use of nitrox.
